Pennies for Patients - January 7th to 28th
Today Eastwood starts its Pennies for Patients campaign and joins more than 29,000 schools nationwide in the fight against blood cancers. For the next three weeks, we will help people who are sick with blood cancers like Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma. All you have to do is collect coins and other donations and put them in your classroom collection box. This is Eastwood's 7th year doing this program and do you know that we have raised more than $20,000 dollars total for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society over the past years? Last year we raised $5600.00 and this year our goal is $6,000. If we raise this, Mrs. Brush will dress up as something funny and hand out something delicious. Student council will be collecting the classroom boxes on Wednesdays. The top primary and upper grade class that raises the most money each week will receive a special reward from your teacher. Then the class that raises the most overall, will get a pasta party from the Olive Garden. Their breadsticks are amazing!!! Each classroom has a collection box that looks like this. You will store your classroom money in here. Each of you will get a cool collection box like this to take home and fill. Then you return it to school and pour it into your class box. Each teacher has a collection chart to show your success and I will put the school wide chart in the multi-purpose room to show you how the school is doing. So, are you excited about helping others? Are you excited to see Mrs. Brush dress up when we reach $6000? Eastwood can do it!! Thank you!
